Jonathan Miller, MBA, MCP, RCC, CCC Jonathan brings a unique perspective to counselling and performance psychology--one shaped by psychology, leadership, and athletics; and more than two decades working across cultures and environments.
His work integrates real-world experience with evidence based practice to help those overcome barriers, build resilience, and perform with greater purpose.
A Life Shaped by Experience
Jonathan's career has taken him through Spain, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, United States, and Canada. During this time he was able to work with the U.S. Military, NYPD, elite athletes, universities and organizations seeking meaningful change. After spending many years overseas he has made Canada home for his family.
Professional & Academic Work
Jonathan holds an MBA in AI and Organizational leadership, doctoral studies in Educational Psychology, Masters in Counselling Psychology, and former kinesiologist.
His doctoral research focused on behavioural analysis and pattern recognition with particular attention to fear and behavioral responses. His research went on to be published in Research and Counselling texts alongside his presentations in Canada and the United States.
Psychology Meets Performance
Growing up on a farm in the southern United States, Jonathan learned that resilience is a house built on challenges, hard work, and persistence.
A lifetime in competitive sport--including Judo, Rugby, and Brazilian Jiujitsu at collegiate, national, and international levels--has reinforced the connection between mind, body, and behaviour.
These experiences helped shaped the philosophy of Nooshejan: Psychological wellbeing and Human performance are deeply connected.
The Meaning Behind Nooshejan
Nooshejan is a concept deeply rooted in Jonathan's personal and family life. A Persian expression conveying nourishment, warmth, and well-being, it was introduced to him through his wife and her family. Over time, its meaning became central to their shared values, lifestyle, and approach to life.
Today, as a new father, Jonathan balances family life with his private clinical practice and consulting work with teams and organizations. His professional focus includes counselling, behavioural adaptation, performance psychology, sleep hygiene, and resilience development.
His approach is practical, collaborative, and experiential, drawing from Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural therapies.
At the heart of his work is a simple belief: People are more than the challenges they bring to counselling. Meaningful change comes from recognizing strengths, building practical skills, and applying what is learned to everyday life.
